I had the privilege of conducting an interview with Andrew Morrison, the Mining Product Specialist at EMSCO Heavy Equipment. Andrew eagerly shared with us the range of services and solutions that EMSCO offers to the mining industry.

Despite the vast presence of the mining industry throughout Canada, it is actually a relatively close-knit community. EMSCO has assembled a team of highly skilled HD technicians, parts experts, technical support specialists, and managers who specialize in the mining sector. As a one-stop-shop vendor, we possess the unique capability to source and provide any required components to our clients worldwide. In contrast, purchasing through original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) typically limits customers to a single brand. Our approach allows us to supply clients with a wide range of items, parts, components, and equipment. Leveraging an extensive global supply chain and network, we have access to resources that many Canadian vendors do not possess. Additionally, we offer our own line of parts and options for components and hydraulic cylinder remanufacturing in our dedicated workshops. This empowers us to offer retail sales within Canada, with the intention of providing cost savings to our clients compared to direct purchases from OEM manufacturers, who often escalate their prices.

With three fully equipped workshops located across Canada, we are fully equipped to undertake machine rebuilds for smaller mining equipment, including dozers, graders, and excavators. Our technicians possess extensive experience in conducting frame-up rebuilds for all types and models of such equipment, regardless of their size or complexity.

While equipment rentals are a key focus of EMSCO's business, we offer a comprehensive range of parts and components for smaller mining support gear, such as D8/D9 Dozers, 14/16/24M graders, and excavators of various sizes. Furthermore, we specialize in remanufactured hydraulic cylinders for all makes and models of equipment.

We have made the decision to maintain an inventory of major components specifically for CAT D10T Dozers. In line with this initiative, we have acquired and disassembled two D10T machines, which are currently undergoing a thorough overhaul at our Regina location. Our plan is to expand our lineup of D10T components and subsequently move on to developing remanufactured parts for another commonly used machine type in the Canadian mining industry.
